Amanda is a senior at American University double majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies: Communication, Law, Economics, and Government and Public Communication. Growing up in the Washington, D.C. suburbs, Amanda has always had an interest in U.S. government. She’s interned on Capitol Hill three times—in the offices of Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and Senator Robert C. Byrd (D-WV) and on the majority staff of the Committee for Oversight and Government Reform. On campus, she is very involved in the Student Government and serves as this year’s Chief of Staff, having served as last year’s Kennedy Political Union Director. She plans pursue a career on Capitol Hill after she graduates and eventually go to law school.
Molly is a member of the class of 2009 at American University, pursuing her B.A. in Law and Society with a minor in Communications and a certificate in Advanced Leadership Studies. A 2008 Harry S. Truman Scholar, Molly has interned with the Public Defender Service for DC, Teach For America, and the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. She spent her junior year studying Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Molly was raised in Medway, Massachusetts, and she plans to pursue a career in law and public policy.
